![]() ![]() ![]() Should Acronis Backup even bother trying to backup these? The backup that could not open ~*.docx files on the NAS was scheduled at 3 AM in the morning. ATI on the remaining 3 PCs will be uninstalled, as the ATI on one of them also silently stopped making backups in january of this year. The PC on which support spent an hour trying to get ATI working to no avail, is already happily running Macrium Reflect for nearly two years now without any problems. Payment renewal was disactivated some time ago to prevent Acronis from debiting our card for software that does not work. Subscription is still running but will terminate automatically end of this month. I have a case number from 2018 but I'm not going to spend any time digging it up. Ensure that files on the NAS are not scanned by antivirus software or copied by other backup solutions during backup process (you can specify respective scripts in pre/post commands).Īlso, based on your description it looks like the backup was completed with the warning (all source files that were accessible were backed up, the inaccessible file was skipped and warning produced), hence since no successful backup (without any warning\alert) was made in the number of days you specified in the related option the e-mail alert was triggered.Give the backup process a higher priority (see performance backup option) and Acronis Agent User a higher priority in accessing the NAS. ![]() Schedule the backup of NAS when no one uses the files (at weekends or off-hours).Otherwise, we recommend these guidelines for backup of files and folders located on a NAS or a network share: Acronis development team is considering a dedicated agent for Synology/QNAP devices for future releases. As a workaround, install an agent into the NAS operating system instead of on the machine and enable file-level snapshots in backup options. Then suddenly I get an email "Warning alert: No backups have been created for more than 5 day(s)" Five (5) days? Seriously? Why leave many thousands of files unprotected because one (yes, one temp file) can't be copied?ĭata snapshot is not available for files that are stored on network shares, and therefore the files that are currently opened for read or write operations are skipped during backup. Suspends all of them because there is one open ~*.docx file on the Synology that it can't backup. Since it is (allegedly) not a rant, I will let myself skip right to actionable feedback.įor ATI related problems you experienced, could you please provide at least one most recent support case number, so that I check it and all the other cases associated with your account and can bring them up with Support and Development teams? Hi OP, it saddens me to hear that your personal experience made you part with Acronis :( You are selling software for big money that's way worse than the free versions some of your competitors ship. Then suddenly I get an email "Warning alert: No backups have been created for more than 5 day(s)" Five (5) days? Seriously? Why leave many thousands of files unprotected because one (yes, one temp file) can't be copied? The expensive Acronis Backup that we bought has 3 backup tasks and suspends all of them because there is one open ~*.docx file on the Synology that it can't backup. You really should be ashamed of yourselves! Your software can't do simple math that most 14 year old kids learn in school. Wait another half hour and it is 11 minutes. And when you go back after 15 minutes, it is 16 minutes. If I clone a hard drive to an SSD, regardless of how many GBs need to be copied, the estimated time remaining is always 8 minutes. Luckily I managed to remove it with the removal tool. Even not after trying for an hour and contacting numerous other Acronis colleagues. Even your brilliant support team whose English is sometimes barely understandable, couldn't get it to work after I let them via remote. TI does not start anymore, it can't be uninstalled, it can't be reinstalled. Leaving the pc and user unprotected for weeks and months, while of course the subscription (and payments) keeps running. It just stops making backups without even so much as an error message on the screen. This is why:Įvery version of True Image that you release, is worse than the previous. These are my conclusions after using Acronis products for about 13 years and spending thousands on it. You are selling things that are way below the standard in terms of quality, reliability, and respect for users. Even if you gave me all your licenses for free, I wouldn't use your software again. ![]()
